1. William Hugh Lose Obituary, of Bruceton Mills – Death
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Wagner) Lose; two sons and spouses, Daniel and Loretta Lose and David and Lois Lose, all of Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Henrietta Lose, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Rita Armentrout, of Titusville, Va.; four grandchildren, Ashley Jenkins, Samantha Rivera, Amanda Wolfe, and Candice DeShields; nine great-grandchildren, Ty, Lane, Kaylee, Felicity, Hayden, Aaron, Alexis, Chase and Jarret; and nephew, Robert “Rob” Jones.
William was the son of Charles Porter Lose and Julia Marie (Saba) Lose, who both passed away before William’s birth on January 22, 1935, in Clifton Mills. After spending many years in the coal mines working as a mechanic and an electrician, he then became a building engineer for the Writ Corp. in Virginia, where he remained until his retirement. William was a devoted family man who took pleasure in assisting others and tinkering with automobiles and motorcycles. Read More

GRINER, William Eldon “Willie,” 74, passed away on December 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Although he was born in Charleston, South Carolina, he spent his childhood in Short Pump, Virginia. His mother, Irene Via Griner Bell, and father, Clarence “Bill” Griner, both passed away before him. Doris Griner, his wife of 51 years, his children Jenny Truitt, Patrick Griner, and Bridget Barlow, each of whom are married to other people, and his seven grandchildren, Jayden, Christian, Jackson, Jacob, Alaina, Savannah, and Michael Jr. Willie cherished his time spent fishing and in the great outdoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his spare time. During the 1970s, he competed in flat track racing and won a number of races.
After 45 years of service, he finally took his retirement from West Broad Honda, where he worked as a mechanic for both Honda House of Richmond and West Broad Honda. He was a natural engineer who was always able to find a solution to any problem and could fix everything. He was able to fix anything. His love for animals was very strong, and he had a special affection for his dogs. He made the most of his retirement by spending time with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
