The loss of one of their own is causing sadness among firefighters across the state. On Tuesday, a fellow firefighter and member of the Greenville Fire District Vito Sciavillo passed away. On Saturday, there will be a get-together for family and friends to remember Vito and to share stories and laughs about him. In addition to that, Sciavillo served for a significant amount of time as a firefighter for the Catskill Fire Department. He was 45. Source

He is survived by his wife, Connie Cambareri Sciavillo, and son, Vito D. Sciavillo, and his fiance, Lindsay Wallace, all of Port Chester; brother, Ray Sciavillo, and sister, Mary Stellas, both of Port Chester and sister, Palma Sciarretta of Hollywood, FL and the family dog, Harley. On November 9, 2004, Vito Sciavillo, who had been a resident of Port Chester, passed away. He was born in Harrison, New York on September 15, 1934, to the late Donato Sciavillo and Angelina Palmisano Sciavillo. He lived to be 70 years old.

Mr. Sciavillo’s career began in the armed forces of the United States. He received his diploma from Wynnes Beauty School, which is located in White Plains. Both Vito’s Beauty Bar in Eastchester, New York, and the LaBoutique Hair Salon in Port Chester, New York, which he owned and operated for a combined 27 years, were under his management. He was a member of the Westchester Hairdressers Guild and had served as its president in the past.
