2. Violet Marie (Schultz) Raschke Death, born in Gregory, SD – Obituary

Violet Marie (Schultz) Raschke born November 14, 1924, in Gregory, SD to Albert and Anna Marie (Lundgren) Schultz. On the farm the family owned just south of Dixon, South Dakota, Violet and her brother Harold spent their childhood. Her family relocated to Gregory in 1939, and her mother opened the Fairmont Creamery while her father began working for Wilson Forwarding as a freight driver. Violet received her diploma from Gregory High School in the year 1943. During this period, Violet met the man she would spend the rest of her life with, Albert Raschke. On March 11, 1944, she is quoted as saying, “I married the neighbor lad.”

At first, they resided six miles to the east of Dixon, but in 1948, they relocated to a location three miles to the north of Gregory in order for their children to be able to attend school in Gregory. Virgil, John, Marilyn, Darrell, Rodney, Ronald, and Ricky Dean, as well as Darla, were the eight children that were born to Albert and Violet. Violet placed a high value on family, and she found great satisfaction in spending time on the farm. Some of her favorite activities there were going to the drive-in theater when the children were younger and fishing in the pond on the property. She especially enjoyed having everyone around for the holidays and on Sundays, when her home was guaranteed to be bustling with activity.    Read More Obituaries established by De Affluxes Hardes International in 2019 is a death and obituary news aggregation service that provides a nonstop flow of links to articles that have been compiled from the work of thousands of different publishers and magazines.
