Car crash, squad call: South Woodland Road
Police and medics responded to a head-on collision along Route 87 between Farwood Drive and Chagrin River Road at 2:15 p.m. on June 12, involving a Jeep and an Audi.
Injuries were initially described as possibly minor, and although a third rescue squad was summoned for a third occupant, one of those patients being treated at the scene wound up refusing medical transport.
Two people were taken to Hillcrest Hospital, where condition reports were unavailable, as the accident remained under investigation, with one car apparently driving in the wrong lane.
South Woodland Road was closed briefly at Chagrin River Road until the accident scene could be cleared.
Car crash, squad call: Jackson, SOM Center roads
Route 91 was closed at Easton Lane for about 45 minutes shortly after 1 p.m. on June 7 following a two-car accident that sent two people to local hospitals with undetermined but what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The call came in for a crash involving a Toyota and a Chevrolet with one car rolled over and one on its side, with one man on the ground. All occupants were soon reported to be out of their cars with two rescue squads summoned to the scene for treatment and transport, with no further details available.
Suspicion: Ellendale Road
A caller reported that an older man with brown hair and wearing jeans had tried to open the front and back doors of a home at 9:39 a.m. on June 7.
The suspect was driving a tan work truck that had turned right on Ellendale within the past three minutes and was last seen heading toward Chagrin Boulevard.
Police were unable to locate him and subsequently spoke to the resident, who was out of town and had Ring doorbell security cameras.
Suspicion: Chagrin Boulevard
A Flour restaurant employee working in the parking lot reported that the occupant of a white truck with a cement mixer attached was picking through their Dumpster around 7 p.m. on June 8.
The employee was unsure if they had permission to do so and the truck was gone moments later and prior to police arrival.
Fraud: River Mountain Drive
A fraud report was called into the police station and written up on the afternoon of June 9.
Animal-miscellaneous: Skyline Drive
Police assisted a resident in getting a raccoon out of his garage shortly after noon on June 12.
