Tommy Payton Cause of Death

“Tommy had an uncanny ability to remember dates and events related to the FDNY and otherwise. Tommy was a “Rain Man” before we even knew what that was. If you gave Tommy your Proby Class (3rd of ’97) he could easily give you the date of your Appointment, the then Fire Commissioner, the NYC Mayor and the weather that day.

“Tommy could easily recite every FDNY firehouse address and could give you the make and model of any engine or truck at any given time. Tommy amazed all comers to the quarters of Engine 64 and Ladder 47 with his incredible memory and ability. Our deepest condolences to Tommy’s family, the world has truly lost one of its most special beings. May Tommy Rest in Peace.”
