Thomas L. Wilkerson, 66 years old, of Plano, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. He was the son of John Thomas Wilkerson and Mary Frances (Flowers) Wilkerson, and he was born on July 13, 1955 in Tallassee, Alabama. Mr. Wilkerson wed Charlene Williamson in May of 2005, and the two of them have enjoyed a prosperous and fulfilling marriage for the past 17 years. During the course of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Tom served his country with honor first as a member of the United States Navy and later as a member of the United States Army.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for Caterpillar Inc. in Montgomery, Illinois, where he had worked for many years. Tom was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who will be sorely missed by his many relatives as well as his extensive network of friends. His wife, Charlene Wilkerson, of Plano, Illinois; his children, Jonathan Wilkerson of Wisconsin and Jennifer Zepeda of Plano, Illinois; his niece, Mona, of Alabama; and his cats Cinnamon and Melody, as well as his dog, Mandy, all survive him. Reinaldo R. Maldonado, Jr., his parents, John and Mary Wilkerson, his brother, his sister, and one of his nieces and nephews all passed away before him. His parents were John and Mary Wilkerson.
