A man is believed to have been shot to death over the weekend in Southwest Philadelphia, which has prompted the police to launch a homicide investigation. It was reported that the victim, who was 34 years old, was found inside a vehicle on Sunday night at the intersection of 61st Street and Baltimore Avenue. According to the police, he was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. Tanrence Jamar Matthes, a resident of South 56th Street, was subsequently determined to be him. There is video from the scene that appears to show two cars in collision, but no additional information has been released at this time. Terry was born in Deadwood, South Dakota on December 24, 1946. His parents were Kenneth R. and Helmi (Aijala) Lee. Terry was born and raised in Deadwood. On June 4, 1967, Terry Gibson married Margie Gibson in Lead, South Dakota. He worked for the Homestake for a total of seventeen years. He was employed in the mining industry on a contract basis and also worked as a motor man. Until his retirement in the year 2000, he held the position of group manager at Alco. Terry enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, and time spent with his granddaughters. He particularly enjoyed working on his 1951 Chevrolet, which was a classic.
