Melanie McGuire is an American who used to work as a nurse. On April 28, 2004, she was found guilty of killing her husband, Bill McGuire. The media called this case the “suitcase murder.”

Miller said at her trial that she called Bill on April 28 to tell him she was going to tell her husband she wanted a divorce after they closed on a new house.

The police thought that Melanie had given Bill drugs, shot him, and then cut up his body.

On April 23, 2007, a jury found McGuire guilty of first-degree murder, perjury, desecration of human remains, and illegal possession of a gun.
On July 19, 2007, she was given a sentence of life in prison without the chance of getting out before she turned 100.
In a rare interview with ABC News in September 2020, McGuire said that she did not kill the person.
Melanie told ABC News that the person who killed her husband is still out there.
When McGuire was found guilty, her two children were given to Cindy Ligosh, who is the sister of her husband. Since then, McGuire has not seen her children.
