The identify of a man who passed away on Monday evening as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred on South Hurstbourne Parkway has been made public by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Officer Beth Ruoff, a spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, stated that the incident took place on September 19 at approximately 11 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Hurstbourne Parkway, close to Vassel Road.
According to Ruoff, the motorbike was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes when it became involved in a collision with two automobiles heading eastbound. The driver of the motorcycle, a man named Steven Goodman who was 55 years old, passed away at the scene of the accident. At the age of seventy, Steven Alan Goodman of Dalton passed away at Berkshire Medical Center on the 27th of December, 2021. He was the son of Gerald H. Goodman and Sylvia Fischman Goodman and was born in Pittsfield on March 21, 1951. He attended Pittsfield schools throughout his education and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1969. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, during which time he was stationed in Fort Polk, in the state of Louisiana. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Goodman was a chef by training and worked at a number of different restaurants. In addition to that, he constructed log homes in Montana and worked as a traffic control supervisor at a number of other construction sites.
He was a devoted sports fan, particularly of the New York Yankees and the Denver Broncos, in addition to being a passionate motorcyclist and rider. Mr. Goodman is survived by his life partner, Wendy D. Nickerson of Dalton; his three daughters, Krista Goodman (husband Shaun Shephard) of Colorado, Stephanie (husband James) Miller of Ohio, and Kaci McMillen of Colorado; his two stepdaughters, Dawn (husband Chris) Sickell of Dalton and Carilee (Greg) Duguay of Hinsdale; his two brothers, Dale Goodman and Mitchell Goodman, both of Both of his siblings, a sister named Betsy Carchedi and a brother named Jeffrey Goodman, passed away before he did.
