2. Dorian Duffin Death, born in Rupert, Idaho – Obituary
His youth was filled with laughter and joy as he played with his four brothers, two sisters, and a large number of cousins. They made the most of their time off in Elba and the Sawtooth Mountains. He began working with his family in their pump business at a very young age, during which time he had the ability to figure out, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild virtually anything.
After graduating from high school, he joined the army and then used the GI bill to pay for his education at Boise State University.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree after completing an extensive amount of education in the fields of geography, geology, and science. After finding that INEL was pouring radioactive waste into the Snake River Plain aquifer, he helped create the Snake River Alliance and worked to guarantee that they cleaned up the site. During this time, he also learned that INEL was doing this.
In 1981, he tied the knot with Susie Vader, and soon after, the couple established their first mini-farm in the southeast part of Boise.
He purchased Sun Valley Marble in 1987 and, over the years, developed a deep appreciation for the hundreds of devoted clients, workers, and contractors that supported him. He will eventually retire in 2020. In 1986, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kara, who sadly went away when she was only four months old. In 1988 and 1990, respectively, they welcomed their second and third children, Lea and Jenna, respectively. Dorian cherished his role as a parent and instilled in his two daughters the importance of perseverance, an insatiable curiosity, and the capacity to think for themselves. Read more
