1.Scott Madcharo Death, Of Amsterdam – Obituary

On Wednesday, an electric bicycle that was being ridden by an Amsterdam man was involved in a fatal collision with a vehicle on Ramsey Avenue, according to the police. Scott Madcharo, 57, a resident of Amsterdam, was the person who was found dead, according to the police. According to the police, the collision took place at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the junction of Ramsey and Van Dyke Avenues. According to the police, Madcharo was operating a bicycle with electric assistance and traveling south on Ramsey Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign that was posted and failed to give the right of way to traffic.

Police said that when Madcharo was entering the junction, he collided with the rear driver’s side of a vehicle that was legally heading east on Van Dyke Avenue and was being driven by an Amsterdam woman who was 63 years old. After the collision, the driver called 911 and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the police, according to the authorities. Members of the Amsterdam Fire Department rendered aid to Madcharo at the scene of the accident before transporting him to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Just before crossing the intersection, witnesses reportedly saw Madcharo riding at a fast rate of speed and beginning to lose control of his electric bike, according to the police.  Source

Madcharo, Lois C. SCHENECTADY Lois Carpenter Madcharo, who was 92 years old when she passed away, passed away in the comfort of the MercyOne Hospice in Johnston, Iowa, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Arthur Carpenter, who passed away, and Cecelia Corneau Carpenter, who also passed away. She was born on September 28th, 1929 in Schenectady. She attended Mont Pleasant High School and Mildred Elley Business School and graduated from both of those schools. Lois stayed at home and raised her three children. She was a housewife. She held a number of positions before landing a position as a secretary for the United States Department of Naval Reserves in Scotia.

She remained in that role for more than 15 years before taking early retirement. In addition to being a voracious reader, Lois cherished her time spent crocheting and knitting. She didn’t start using Facebook until she was 90 years old, but by that time she was already an expert user of Facetime and texting. She participated in the church’s choir and women society in addition to being a member of the St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church in Maplewood congregation. She was the cherished wife of the late Constantine K. Madcharo, who passed away on February 12, 2014; the doting mother of Gregory K. Madcharo of Brunswick, Maine, Patricia K. Madcharo of Schenectady and Eric C.
