According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, the victim of the fatal shooting that occurred in south Modesto on Saturday evening has been identified as 28-year-old local resident Scott Anthony Bates. Bates was shot multiple times. It’s about 9:50 at night. On Saturday, several law enforcement agencies, including the Modesto Police Department, the Modesto Fire Department, and American Medical Response, were sent to the 100 block of Imperial Avenue in response to reports of a shooting. Bates was discovered with gunshot wounds that were potentially fatal. However, despite the efforts of the paramedics, it was determined that he had already passed away at the scene.  Source

After that, funeral services will be held in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Hartle presiding over the proceedings. Gregory-Landcastor Cemetery, located in Rural Dexter, Missouri, will play host to the private interment of the deceased.
