1. Saddique Melvin Obituary – Death

WITN has revealed the identify of the teenager who passed away after being stabbed to death inside a Jacksonville high school on Thursday. This comes as the authorities continue to withhold details regarding the incident. The victim, Saddique Melvin, was only 17 years old when he passed away after being stabbed at Northside High School in what appears to have been a dispute with other pupils. Another student was hurt and sent to the hospital, while an instructor received medical attention at the scene of the accident. Up to this point, three pupils have been held accountable.

Involuntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a school official, and possession of a weapon on school property are the charges that have been brought against a boy who is 16 years old. Both a boy aged 15 and a lad aged 16 have been charged with two counts each of assault and disorderly behavior at the school where they were both students. WITN has requested the names of the victims be released by the police on multiple occasions. According to the open records statute in North Carolina, law enforcement agencies are required to disclose the names of crime victims. The only exceptions to this rule are when the police believe that disclosing the names could put the victim’s health at risk or compromise an ongoing criminal investigation. Source
