At the age of 92, Robert A. Miller, who resided in Brick, passed away at Ocean Medical Center on the 30th of August, 2022. He was born in Newark and had spent a good portion of his life in Union prior to relocating to Brick in the year 1997. During the Korean War, Robert had done his duty for the United States Army in an admirable manner. After dedicating himself to the job for 26 years, he retired as a Union police officer. Robert was an avid sportsman who spent his free time playing golf, fishing, and tending to his lawn.
On Thursday, September 1st, 2022, at 11:00 AM, a funeral service for Robert will take place at the O’Brien Funeral Home, which is located at 505 Burnt Tavern Road in Brick, New Jersey 08724. After the funeral, the interment will take place in Hollywood Memorial Park, which can be found at 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, New Jersey 07083. He was the son of Leroy “Ted” Miller and Nina (Hoft) Miller, who welcomed him into the world on April 30, 1955 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After moving with his family to Michigan in 1968, he attended Lowell High School till he graduated in 1973. Bob delighted in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he enjoyed playing board games and attending their sporting events. He celebrated his favorite holiday, Halloween, by donning a costume every year. He also enjoyed decking out the yard with decorations and giving out candy to the children in the area. He had a passion for exploring new places and having exciting experiences. In addition to this, he had a passion for the kitchen and loved trying out new dishes.
Bob’s first wife, Cathy, his brother Ron Miller, his parents, his grandsons Tom and Brittney, as well as a large number of other members of his family all passed away before him. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Patrice, as well as her children, Shannon (Larry) Musfelt of Pinellas Park, Florida, Abbi Rubbelke of Grand Rapids, Jason (Vicky) Kies of ChiaYi, Taiwan, Rob (Kim) Bruwer of Byron Center, and Jeni (Manny) Navarro of Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
