1. Robert E. Finnigan Obituary, Resident of Los Altos, California – Death
On August 14, 2022, at the age of 95, Robert “Bob” Finnigan passed away in a calm and serene manner at his house in Los Altos. On May 27th, 1927, Bob was welcomed into the world in Buffalo, New York. He received his diploma from the United States Naval Academy in 1949 and then served as an officer in the United States Air Force for the following ten years, rising to the rank of Captain during that time. While he was serving in the Air Force, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
In addition to his work as a senior scientist at the University of California Lawrence Radiation Laboratory (LRL) in Livermore, California, he was a professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio, where he was responsible for the education of graduate students in electrical engineering. In 1959, he got out of the Air Force and stayed on at LRL, where he worked on the design and construction of control and instrumentation systems for advanced nuclear reactors for the next two years. 2. Robert “Bob” E. Finnegan Obituary – Death
On February 4, 2022, she passed away without any pain or suffering. Richard Finnegan, her brother, and Beverly Roeder, her sister, had passed away before her. Pat Finnegan, his devoted wife of 59 years, his children Kathy (Patrick Martin) Finnegan, Suzi Benz, Colleen (Joe) Vogel, and Lori Finnegan; his grandchildren Logan, Anna, Nixi, Connor, Jack, and Ted; and his brother Terry (Mary) Finnegan all survive him. Bob cared deeply and deeply for his family. He retired after 40 years of service at Ellerbe Architects, during which time he took up fishing at the cabin.
On Tuesday, February 8, at 11:00 AM, a Christian burial service will be performed at St. Francis de Sales, which is located at 650 Palace Avenue in St. Paul. Visitation begins one hour in advance. Because of the sensitive care that Our Lady of Peace Hospice and Alton Memory Care provided to Bob, our family would like to express our gratitude to both facilities.
