Preceded in death by his first wife, Angeline (née Macek) Steiniger, his parents, Erwin & Marie Steiniger, and his sister, Fern (Robert) Specht. Loving husband of Vera Steiniger. Beloved father of Bobbie (Mark) Kowbel, Mary Trentadue, Buck Steiniger, and Vera’s children, Karen (Greg) Sidoff, Jeff (Carmen) Weideman, and Sheryl Puerner. Proud grandpa of Nick Haman, James (Tiffanie) Trentadue, Krista (Adam) Kurutz, Erick (Danielle) Steiniger, Jamie Stearns, Jennifer Pagel, and David Sidoff. Count your blessings: you have 21 great-grandchildren. Additionally survived by further members of the family as well as friends.
Ray was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served his country. He earned his degree from Michigan State University. Owner of the Tompkins Velvet Freeze in Racine, Wisconsin, for many years. He had a lot of fun adventuring in the woods on the land he owned in Merrill, Wisconsin. Ray was a devoted follower of the sports teams that represented Wisconsin, particularly the Packers and the Brewers. On Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm, there will be a visitation at the Emanuel United Church of Christ located at 10627 W. Forest Home Ave. in Hales Corners, Wisconsin 53130. Mark Alan Steininger, 58, of Pocomoke City, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Born on May 15, 1963 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late Everett Eugene Steininger and the late Rebecca Ann Steininger. Mark worked for Mr. Go-Glass as a foreman and installer. Mark was very active at the Delmar Drag and Speedway and enjoyed drag racing. His pride and joy was his 1973 Nova. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his pets. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
