1. Pauline Stroud Obituary – Death

Pauline Stroud, who was my friend and who passed away recently at the age of 92 after a battle with cancer, got her start in the acting world in 1951 with a major role in the movie Lady Godiva Rides Again. After playing the part of Godiva in a town parade, Pauline took on the role of Marjorie Clark, who was eventually convinced to compete in the Miss Fascination Soap pageant. Pauline won the contest. In addition to Joan Collins, Jean Marsh, and Diana Dors, Stanley Holloway, George Cole, and Sid James also made appearances in the film as competitors.

Born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, to parents Leslie Stroud, an accountant, and Daisy Stroud, Pauline was an only child (nee Waters). She started out attending a convent school, but her mother left her because she became suspicious that her daughter was being eyed as a potential new member of the religious order. After that, she received her education privately, and some of the subjects she studied were dance and riding horses. Read more

2. Pauline Elizabeth Obituary, born in Kingston  Death

Her children, Hal (Barbara), Doug (Lori), and Elizabeth (Craig), as well as her grandkids, Natalie (Travis), Rebecca (Christie), Alexandra, and Bridget, are the ones who are left to mourn her passing. Kingston is Pauline’s place of birth. She attended Queens University and majored in biochemistry, where she was one of just three other female students in her class. After that, Pauline pursued her education at the doctoral level at Case Western Reserve University, focusing on nucleotide synthesis.

When Walter was Pauline’s lab demonstrator in Comparative Anatomy at Queens College, the two came face to face for the first time. They both shared a fascination with intellectual conversation and childlike curiosity, which served as the foundation for their budding romantic relationship. After she wed Walter, she and her new husband relocated to New Haven, which is where they began their family. They made their way back to Canada in the late sixties and ended up located in the province of Manitoba.
