Paul Sartin is a vocalist, instrumentalist, composer, and arranger from England who was born in 1971. His primary instruments are the oboe and the violin. His work with the folk band Bellowhead has brought him the most recognition, but he is also a member of the folk/comedy duet Belshazzar’s Feast and the three-piece Faustus. Willesden, which is located in London, was where Sartin spent his childhood. After completing his primary education at Anson Primary School and Highgate School (both on assisted places), he went on to pursue his secondary education at the Purcell School for Young Musicians (both on assisted places from the Brent music service).

In the years between high school and college, he participated in the Baylis project at the English National Opera and played the oboe with a musical theatre group named Gloria. After that, he attended Magdalen College, Oxford on a choir scholarship and ultimately graduated with a 2:1 in music there. After graduating from Oxford University, Sartin began his career in music by taking a position as a lay clerk at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. He remained in this role for a total of five years. During that time, he earned the title of Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music and was invited to become a member of the band Life of Reilly.
