Thousands of Guineans stormed the streets to welcome the World Cup winner, a midfielder for France with strong ties to the African country.

The former Manchester United footballer could be seen waving to the people who were chanting his name in a video that was released on social media recently.

Paul Pogba’s Life Journey

Pogba was born Paul Labile Pogba on March 15, 1993. He was born in Lagny-sur-Marne, France but his parents are from Africa. His mother is from Congo while his father is from Guinea but they relocated to France in search of greener pastures long before he was born.

Paul Pogba was able to become a citizen of France by birth. His parents left their older sons in Conakry, Guinea, before emigrating; they eventually joined the family in France.

Pogba’s late father was a distant man, therefore, while the footballer was growing up, the two did not have a close relationship. His mother, who has been one of his biggest supporters throughout his career has a close relationship with him.

Pogba developed a deep love for football at a very young age. He chose the sport as a passion in school and then decided to pursue it professionally.

He signed up for US Roissy-en-Brie when he was just six years old. He spent seven years on the team, during which time he developed excellent talents and emerged as a young player with huge potentials.

Pogba’s brothers quickly developed an addiction to football as a result of Pogba’s contagious love of the game. They all developed into successful professional football players with the help of their mother.

Paul Pogba’s career started in 2009 when he joined Manchester United at the age of 16 and quickly rose to fame. Although the young player left Manchester after two discouraging seasons there owing to a relatively low number of games and returned to Italy on a free transfer to join Juventus.

His stint at Juventus was more fruitful because he helped the team win consecutive Serie-A league titles as well as the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italia. He later went back to Manchester United for a record fee of £89.3 million in 2016. Pogba immediately established himself as a top player in the club and helped them to win the UEFA Europa League under Jose Mourinho’s first season as the coach.

However, Paul Pogba is pushing for a move away from Old Trafford after his form has reduced for the club. Pogba says that he wants to play for a team where he will feel important and Manchester United are not giving him the respect he deserves. The Manchester United player could join Juventus this summer.
