The South Carolina Surf family and the Charleston Soccer Community is deeply saddened to learn we have lost a tremendous friend and coach way too soon. Paul Henson loved the game of soccer and was one dedicated and passionate teacher of it. Paul had tremendous faith and our hearts and prayers are with his family and friends in this difficult time. 2. Paul Wayne Henson Death, Of Benton – Obituary
Paul Wayne Henson, who was 84 years old and lived in Benton, Kentucky, passed away at the Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah on January 30, 2022. He was the son of the late Edmon Franklin Henson and the late Lala (Nimmo) Henson and was born on November 8th, 1937 in Marshall County. His parents both passed away before him. Jean (Castleberry) Henson was his wife, and he was her spouse. Paul took his retirement after working for the Kentucky Department of Forestry for 42 years in the capacity of foreman. Following his retirement, he took a job as a cashier at Marquita’s Place, where he worked with his daughter for the next 16 years. He had a membership in the Briensburg-T.L. Jefferson Lodge #401 that spanned 42 years.
Paul was an active member of the New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church as well as a member of the Happy Five Quartet. Surviving members of his family include his wife of 65 years, Jean (Castleberry) Henson of Benton; his children, son Jeff Henson and wife Gail of Benton, and daughter Ginger Henson of Benton; brother Donnie Henson of Benton; grandchildren Jessica Hays and husband Jeff of Clarksville, Tennessee, Amanda Norwood and husband Trevor of Dexter, and Lisa Odom and husband William “Will” of Benton; and great-grandchildren Justin Hays His parents, three brothers—Lawrence Henson, Wilburn Henson, and James “Jim” Henson—and three sisters—Eunice Wood, Nola Estes, and Dorothy Driver—preceded him in death.
