On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the age of 65, Pat Louise Woodburn Pierce, who resided in North East, passed away at her home in a calm and tranquil manner. She was the daughter of Carl Edmund and Florence (Dille beck) Woodburn, both of whom had passed away before her birth on September 25, 1956 in Jamestown, New York. Pat obtained his high school diploma from Youngsville and then went on to study at Jamestown Business College.

Her previous job at the Prendergast Library was as an administration secretary, where she worked for a total of 22 years. Pat was a gardener, sewer, and quilter who also volunteered at the DOOR Student Service Teen Center. She was a member of the North East First Baptist Church and was active in the community. Her parents, an infant sister, two sisters—Barbara Elaine Sturges and Rosemarie Woodburn—and a stepson, Chris E. Pierce—preceded her in death. Read more

Delores Woodburn passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Hospice Home of the Piedmont in High Point, North Carolina. She was 92 years old. She was born on August 17, 1927, and spent the majority of her youth in and around Wilson, North Carolina, prior to meeting and marrying the man who would become her husband, Raymond Woodburn. Delores’s career as a bus driver in the Guildford County School System came to an end when she retired.

Delores was a devout Christian who attended the Stevens Memorial Baptist Church throughout her life. She taught Sunday School and was involved in a wide variety of other activities at her church, which she attended regularly. She was a big fan of gospel singings and went to a lot of them over the course of her life. She also organized trips to go to gospel singings for her friends and family.
