1. Nikolas Bird obituary, First degree murder – Death

The identity of the individual who was shot and murdered on Saturday evening has been made public by the police. Nikolas Bird, 23, succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:30 p.m. after being shot numerous times on the 1500 block of Claire View Lane. Mark Bent, age 41, was taken into custody by law enforcement and is currently being held in the Bonneville County Jail on a charge of murder in the first degree.

In a press release, the police department expressed their deepest condolences to Mr. Bird’s family and friends, saying, “We send our profound condolences to Mr. Bird’s loved ones at this terrible time.” According to the investigations carried out by the IFPD, Bird and Bent were familiar with one another, and Bird resided in the neighborhood where the shooting took place. 2. Nikolas D. Rasey Obituary, of New Castle – Death

On the afternoon of June 11, 2021, Nikolas D. Rasey, age 30, unexpectedly passed away at McKelvey Lake, the location he cherished the most in all of the world. He was the son of Jenny Jolene Rasey and Gerald Black and was born on January 4, 1991 in the city of New Castle. Nikolas received his education at New Wilmington High School and at Youngstown State University, where he majored in Criminal Justice. He had a distinguished honor graduation from the Army National Guard’s Battery A 1-107 Field Auxiliary, from which he had previously served as a member. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and worked as an industrial carpenter for Local 420, where he was employed. He was also employed by Local 420.

Nikolas enjoyed a wide variety of activities and pastimes. His interests included playing the violin, fishing, hunting, dirt motorcycles, ATVs, boating, building, and sports. He also took great pride in keeping his Harley motorcycle and truck in pristine condition. Above all else, he treasured the time he got to spend with his family, particularly with his sons. In addition to his biological parents, he is survived by his loving partner Jewellea Wyne of Youngstown, Ohio; his father, Rick Jenkins of Salem, West Virginia; his special grandmother Jeannette Rasey of New Bedford, Pennsylvania; his two sons, Jaxson Nikolas and Jayden Nikolas Rasey, both of Youngstown, Ohio; his stepsister Miranda Barnes of Shenango Twp; and a large number of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
