Multiple drivers trapped, vehicle on fire after severe accident in Eastern Berks – Car Accident

Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle accident with multiple entrapments in Womelsdorf at Conrad Weiser Parkway, which is Route 422, and Water Street.

Crews were on scene for reports of a two-car accident shortly before 5:30 p.m., and reported flames coming from the undercarriage of one vehicle.

Two occupants were heavily entrapped within one vehicle, and another driver was also entrapped within another, reports said.

Crews requested a medical helicopter on standby and additional ambulances, as well as assistance from Lebanon County crews.

All trapped occupants were reported freed from the crash shortly before 5:50 p.m.

Two patients were transported by emergency crews, while the driver of one vehicle was refusing care, reports said.

The helicopter was not needed.

Traffic was backed up for at least a half-hour.
