Mary was a proud auxiliary member of the Glen Hill Post 287 American Legion. She also donated her time volunteering at the Grand Rapids Veterans Home. Her accomplishments include: Unit #287 Secretary, Treasurer, Membership, Historian, 1st Vice and Unit President. In the 5th district she was 2nd Vice, 1st Vice and 5th District Auxiliary President and she held numerous Department Chairs. She had been there for only a short time. Mary Tucker was born on June 29, 1956, in Hanover, New Hampshire, to Earle (who passed away in February 1956) and Eva (Rameor) Tucker. Lloyd and Eva Tucker took care of Mary throughout her childhood in Enfield, New Hampshire. She was a member of the class of 1974 that graduated from Mascoma High School with high honors. Mary tied the knot with Edward J. Tyler, the boyhood crush she’d had since she was a young girl, on August 20, 1977. Edward J. Tyler passed away in 2005. They had been living in Lebanon, New Hampshire up until 1987, when they decided to build a home in Enfield and move back to the area where they had spent their childhood. Despite Ed’s spinal cord injury, which occurred in 1985, they continued to participate in activities such as sports, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
