Mary Berry, age 66, fought courageously against cancer for many years before passing away on September 21, 2022 and going to her heavenly home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Christian. She also took care of her husband and children. On December 21, 1955, Mary Axson was born to the late William and Vera Axson in Kingsport, Tennessee. Mary was a resident of Kingsport. She worked as a nurse at Wellmont for the better part of three decades after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from King University in 1991.
Mary’s commitment to the Christian religion was an integral element of her life. She made a consistent effort to read the Bible and spoke about the lessons she learned from it. Her offspring and grandchildren were the sources of an inexhaustible supply of happiness for her, and she never let an opportunity pass without showering them with her affection and consideration. She found great satisfaction in the time she spent in the kitchen, where she concocted mouthwatering dishes and spent time with her loved ones. Source
2. Mary Elizabeth Berry Death, of Tucson, AZ – Obituary
Evergreen High School was Mary’s alma mater, and she graduated with honors. She attended the University of Northern Colorado on a full academic scholarship for four years, where she participated in intramural basketball and was a member of the SPURS Honorary Society. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree. During her time at the elementary school, she and a number of her fellow teachers were in charge of the extracurricular Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair. She was considered a “master” educator.
She possessed a wide variety of skills and interests. Her family had a lot of fun in the great outdoors, doing things like fishing, camping, and taking long car journeys. She found great joy in being actively involved in her children’s academics and extracurricular activities, serving as an assistant coach for their youth soccer team, a scorebook keeper for their Little League team, a lane timer at their high school swim meets, and the treasurer of their elementary PTA.
