1. Margaret Ann (Cassidy) Parsons Obituary, of South Hadley, MA – Death

Peg was born to parents who were immigrants to the United States, Ada (Tiffany) and Charles S. Cassidy, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Peg received her diploma from the Holyoke Hospital Nurses Aide program after completing her education at the H.B. Lawrence School, Holyoke High School, and the Holyoke Hospital Nurses Aide program. Peg first made the acquaintance of her future husband, Andrew B. Parsons III, at a school dance. They tied the knot in Guilford, Vermont, on January 14, 1950, and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary together. Peg took great pride in her Holyoke roots, and she and Andy made the decision to purchase their first home on Highland Avenue.

After that, they moved to Shelburne Falls and put down roots there for the next 29 years. Prior to that, they had built a house in Granby for their expanding family. However, retirement was the impetus for their return to Holyoke, which occurred in the year 2002. Patient care was the primary focus of Peg’s professional life. She spent a significant portion of her career working in the nursery at Holyoke Hospital. She also had a job at Franklin Medical Center, where she worked her way up to the position of certified nursing assistant while serving in a variety of departments before finally retiring after 45 years in the nursing profession. Peg was able to spend a lot of time with her family because she worked the overnight shift for a number of years. Read More
