Margaret M. Major, age 80, of State Highway 37C, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 22, 2016, at her home in Massena. She was surrounded by her devoted family at the time of her passing. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. At 11:00 in the morning on Monday, June 27, 2016, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Bombay, with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer presiding. After the service, interment will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Massena.
Margaret Ayotte was the daughter of Lucien and Ella (Bradshaw) Ayotte and was born on December 2nd, 1935 in the town of Massena. She received her education in the Massena local schools. She had a job at Warner Bros. in Massena at one point, but later she chose to be a stay-at-home mom so that she could focus on raising her kids. The wedding took place in St. Patrick’s Church in Hogansburg, New York, on August 11, 1956. The groom was Ivan J. Major. She held the time that she got to spend with her grandkids and great grandchildren in the highest regard. She never failed in her duty to look out for the welfare of every member of her family. She would always look forward to the drives in their convertible that she would take with her husband. Read more
