Her dedication to our guests and events was always evident and she will truly be missed. We are so grateful that she was part of the Exceptional Adventures family for more than 20 years. On Saturday, April 14, 2018, Sherry L. Cannon took her last breath. She was born to Lizzie Mae Jackson and Kirby Cannon, both of whom passed away before her birth. She spent the majority of her life in Harnett County, despite the fact that she was born in Wilmington. She worked for Duke Energy for more than twenty years before leaving the company. Sherry was a very involved participant in the Soldiers and Angels organization. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, listening to country music, drinking Pepsi, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents,

her son Anthony and her sister Kathy Marshall passed away before she did. She was predeceased by all of them. She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Wood, who resides in Dunn; her son, Christopher Mayo, who resides in Coats; six grandkids, Kendall Holder, Jayde Painter-Mayo, Brinli Wood, Aubrey Mayo, and Khloee and Holly Wood; and two sisters, Geraldine Hinson and Ann Middleton. She was born in Dunn. It has been announced that commencing on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 5:00 PM, friends are more than welcome to stop by the residence of Shelia Wood located at 2880 Fairground Rd. in Dunn to meet with her, Christopher, and their family.  Read more
