The Premier League is fortunate to have seen some of the most potent attacking combinations in European sport. For Manchester United in 2008–09, the attacking trio of Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez propelled them to a triple.

But in the 2021-2022 season, Liverpool attacking trio – Salah, mane, and Jota, won the EFL Cup and FA Cup titles for their team. The trio scored 54 goals in all competitions.

Salah who is the most prominent member of the trio scored 23 of those goals and was given the EPL Golden boot title alongside Son of Tottenham.

In terms of goals scored in 2021/22, another three-man attack in the top division of English football will have to perform a miracle if they want to dethrone the trio.

The trios from Tottenham and Manchester City are also included on the list, so the Liverpool forwards aren’t the only ones.

In light of this, Futballnews has chosen to compile the attacking trident from the Premier League that scored the most goals combined in the 2021–2022 season.

Liverpool – Salah, Mane and Jota

With a combined 54 goals in the just-completed season, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Diogo Jota of Liverpool lead the division in that category.

But despite that, Manchester City defeated Liverpool to win the 2021–2022 Premier League, and the Reds weren’t even the team with the most goals scored. Unfortunately, one member of the trio, Mane, has left the trio for Bayern Munich this summer.

In addition to Salah’s 13 assists, Liverpool also has three of the top four assisters in the league. Trent Alexander-Arnold (12 assists) and Andrew Robertson (10) are in second and third place, respectively.

Tottenham – Kane, Son, Kulesevski

Over the past two seasons, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son’s combination has grown to be the most potent and feared in the Premier League. The Spurs offense now has a fresh angle thanks to the signing of Dejan Kulusevski.

His immediate rapport with Kane and Son has turned them into a deadly attacking trident.

On the football field, the chemistry between Kulusevski, Kane, and Son is breathtaking to watch. In the attacking third, the three combined so effortlessly and smoothly.

The three Tottenham players combined for a total of 45 goals during the 2021–2022 Premier League season, falling only 9 goals short of the record held by Liverpool’s trio.

Manchester City – Sterling, Bryune, Mahrez

The third team on our list is Manchester City’s front three, which not only contributed to Pep Guardiola’s victory in the 2021–2022 Premier League but also led the league with 39 goals this season.

As Manchester City have added a fantastic attacker in Erling Haaland to their lineup and Sadio Mane has left Liverpool to join Bayern Munich, we will undoubtedly witness more or less of the influence of these trios next season.

With new players, new managers, and promising young players, the 2022–2023 Premier League season will be a huge one.
