1. Linda Kurtti Obituary – Death

Linda Kurtti, 75 years old, has been recognized by the authorities as the victim of the house fire that occurred on Tuesday in East Wenatchee. After her house caught fire at about 10:30 in the morning on the 1400 block of Eastmont Avenue, Kurtti was unable to get out of the building in time. According to the Douglas County Fire Marshal, Kurt Blanchard, the fire actually started at Kurtti’s residence, despite the fact that officials initially stated that the fire was at the Stoneridge Condominiums. According to the spokeswoman for the Douglas County Fire District 2, Kay McKellar, the damage was confined to a single section of the house.

According to Douglas County Deputy Coroner Tanner Bateman, who revealed Kurtti’s identity on Wednesday, the manner in which she passed away is still the subject of an active investigation. Blanchard has chosen not to share any additional information regarding the blaze because the inquiry into how the fire started is still ongoing. According to Blanchard, “in all fires that involve a fatality, they are always considered as if an investigation is being conducted by law enforcement unless it is shown differently.” We just want to make sure that our investigation is complete, so that doesn’t mean there was a crime.
