1. Larry Fisher Obituary, of Lewistown, Montana – Death

At 11:36 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, Larry A. Fisher, who was 86 years old and lived in Lewistown, passed away at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. He was the son of Richard C. and Zelda M. (Fisher) Fisher, both of whom passed away, and was born in Granville on May 13, 1936. In addition to being a member of the Lewistown Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge No. 663, Larry was a part of the Granville United Methodist Church and the Granville United Methodist Men’s Club.  After 33 years of working for United Parcel Service (UPS), he decided to retire from the company.

In addition to that, he was the owner of Fisher’s Grocery Store in Granville during that time. After he retired, he worked as an assistant and supporter of people who had intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit, the Mifflin-Juniata Special Needs Center, and J&D Transportation Services. Camping out with his grandchildren was one of Larry’s favorite activities, and he also enjoyed going on hunting trips with his family and friends in the area as well as in upstate New York and Pennsylvania. 2. Laurence “Larry” Fisher Obituary, of Le Claire, Iowa – Death

On January 31, 1951, Larry Fisher was born to his parents, Orton Fisher and Mildred Fisher, in the city of Davenport, Iowa. He went to Davenport Central High School, which is where he first became interested in photography. At that school, he worked on the staff of the student newspaper and the yearbook. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. On November 14, 1981, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport, Iowa, Larry was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Janet Hughes. The ceremony took place. Prior to his retirement in 2014, he worked as a photojournalist for the Quad City Times for a total of 39 years.

The photographs that Larry took earned him a number of accolades and awards. The photograph that Larry took of Augustana students reacting to the verdict of the OJ Simpson trial in 1995 was one of his most famous works and earned him a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize. Skating figures, fishing for bass, reading, and spending time in nature were some of his favorite activities. Animals held a special place in Larry’s heart. It was said that he had the “Fisher wit,” which was another name for his hilarious sense of humor. He was also very kind and generous.
