L.C “Rocky” Ragsdale, who was 71 years old and lived in Weaverville, passed away on September 7, 2022. Rocky’s birthday is February 22nd, and he was born in Dalton, Georgia. For the past three decades and a half, he has called Buncombe County home. At the time, he was working at the C. Greene Trucking Company alongside his father-in-law. Rocky Ragsdale’s parents, L.P. and Genevieve Vineyard Ragsdale, both passed away before he was born. His brother Charles Terry Ragsdale, his daughter Carrie McCarty, and his grandson Dakota Ragsdale all passed away before him.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. 2.Ronald Ragsdale Death, of Rocky Face – Obituary

At the age of 87, Ronald Ragsdale of Rocky Face, Georgia died away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Ron received his diploma from Crystal City High School in 1947, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and worked for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company between the years of 1953 and 1959. Ron was a veteran of the Korean War. The point in Ron’s working life that he considers to be the pinnacle of his professional accomplishment is the year 1959, when he began working for Eastern Airlines, Inc. in the food and beverage business. He remained there until his retirement in 1989. In this place, he discovered his true vocation.

During this time, beginning in the 1960s, he became a pioneer in the airline industry in the subject of food and beverage and progressed through the ranks to become Eastern’s Regional Director for Dining Services. Soon after, his knowledge and expertise became well known throughout the Company as well as outside of it. During this time, he was transferred several times from St. Louis to Miami, to Houston, and ultimately to Tampa, where he spent many successful years doing the thing that he loved doing the most. In point of fact, Ron played a significant role in the establishment and development of a great deal of programs and innovations that are still utilized today in the whole of the airline industry’s food and beverage divisions.  Read more
