Kristi was welcomed into the world by her parents, Bob and Sharan Gardner, on June 27, 1966, in Seattle. Her brother, J.D., was born a few years later, just before the family relocated to Billings. Kristi pursued her love of art by earning a degree in photography from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, after graduating from West High School. As a student, she had won accolades at a number of national art shows, so this was a natural next step for her. The call of the open road brought her back to Seattle, where she launched her career as a photographer for events and honed her craft while working for a number of prestigious companies and publications.
Kristi eventually moved back to Billings, where she completed the requirements to become a licensed massage therapist. There, she established a devoted clientele and cultivated a large number of long-lasting friendships. In spite of the challenges posed by her illness, she continued to run her own wellness and energy therapy business until the day she passed away, and it was called Affinity for Healing. Her fearlessness was one of her most defining characteristics. Kristi maintained a healthy work-life balance by feeding her creative side through a variety of artistic pursuits, including pottery, painting, sewing, crafting, and a lifelong appreciation for photography.
