On March 13, 2022, Jean Ann Nimrod, 85, of Greenville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully while sleeping in her own bed. A devoted mother, wife, and grandmother, Jean Ann was. In Hamburg, Iowa, on November 29, 1936, Jean Ann was born to her biological mother Madeline Bergstrom Hansen and father Ted Hansen. Early on, Margaret Dane Hansen served as her adopted mother. In Scottsdale, Arizona, and Iowa, Jean Ann was raised. At Iowa State University, Jean Ann saw Vance Nimrod, a server with “lovely red hair,” in the dining hall of her residence. Following graduation in 1959, Vance worked in Connecticut, and Jean Ann worked in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for Farm Journal Magazine.

Before relocating to Greenville, Mississippi, they resided in Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Indiana after getting married in 1961. They have two youngsters. Peter is the Chief Engineer of the Mississippi Levee Board, and Alison works as a scientist at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. When Jean Ann originally relocated to Greenville, she worked at the Delta Democrat Times before deciding to pursue art full-time. Over the course of more than 60 years, Jean Ann was a very skilled artist who worked in a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, and pen & ink.
