KAREN J. OLSZEWSKI, age 54, a resident of Antioch, Illinois, went suddenly in an unexpected manner on September 3, 2008 at the Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Richard “Dick” Daniel and Jean (Wanta) Daniel and was born on September 12, 1953 in the city of Chicago. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee and graduated from Antioch Community High School. She attended St. Peter School in Antioch and graduated from that school as well. Karen had worked for Cosmetique in Vernon Hills for almost fifteen years as an executive secretary, and for the previous two years she had worked as an administrative assistant at Derse Exhibits in Waukegan.
She was devoted to her family, enjoyed shopping and cooking, was a passionate fan of the White Sox, and Maggie, her dog, was the center of her world. She tied the knot with Bernard J. Olszewski on December 8th, 1979 in Antioch, Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bernie; her son, Kevin, who lives in Antioch; her mother, Jean Daniel, who lives in Zion; her sister Charmaine (Michael) Fagan, who lives in Gurnee; her nieces and nephews, Erin Fagan, Elizabeth Lechner, Tom Lechner, Megan Olszewski, and Daniel Olszewski; and a large number of friends who were like family to her.
