John Douglas Sebastian Vero Beach, Flourida: On the morning of July 14, 2021, John Douglas Sebastian, who resided in Vero Beach, Florida, passed away. On September 25th, 1939, Doug Sebastian was brought into the world by his parents, John and Dorothea Sebastian, who resided in the town of Bullittsville, Kentucky. He spent his childhood in Petersburg, Kentucky, on the farm that belonged to his grandparents. While there, he assisted with the farm chores and took pleasure in the company of his neighbours in the small town. He would often talk about how he would help his grandfather before and after school, as well as the fun times he would have with his sister Barb once the work was finished. Following his graduation from high school, Doug worked as a mechanic before eventually purchasing a Marathon station in Hebron, Kentucky, and becoming its owner and operator. In addition to that, he collaborated with his close friends on a racing team, where he was instrumental in keeping his cherished “Snoopy 13” vehicle competitive.

Doug moved to Okeechobee, Florida, with his sister Barb and her family in 1976. It was there that he met and married the woman who would become his devoted wife, Roberta “Bert” Sebastian. They gathered their five children under one roof in Vero Beach after deciding to form a single family unit. They were blessed with an increasing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as the years went by and witnessed the expansion of their family. The family eventually made their home in Vero Beach, Florida, their central gathering place. They were the ones who hosted events such as birthday parties, graduation parties, holiday dinners, and everything in between. Full Obituary
