1. Jonathan Fordyce Meter Death, of Clemmons – Obituary

Jonathan Fordyce Meter, who was 75 years old and originally from Clemmons, North Carolina, passed away on September 13, 2022 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was the son of the late John William Meter and Marjorie Daw (Fordyce) Meter, and he was born on June 6, 1947 in the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the devoted husband of Arlene (Veet) Meter, with whom he had a marriage that lasted for a half-century and was filled with joy and happiness. Jonathan attended Reading High School, Kutztown State College (where he received his Bachelor of Science in education), and Lehigh University (M.Ed., elementary principal certification). In addition, he received an education at Penn State University.

Jonathan had many good recollections of his time spent working at Mae’s Flower Shop for his uncle Karl Meter when he was younger. He also had many fond memories of playing basketball at the “Pike” playground. He spent the majority of his teaching career in the fifth grade at GMIS, which he held for the majority of his 30 years at the Governor Mifflin School District in Shillington, Pennsylvania. In 1999, he took his retirement. Jonathan was very active in his community. He led the fundraising efforts for GM Blue Jeans for Babies, started and coached a middle school girls’ softball program at Governor Mifflin, negotiated teacher contracts, and ran for PA State Representative for the 128th Legislative District.  Source

2 .Jonathan Vannatta Death, of Shelbyville – Obituary

The 17th of December, 1971 found Jonathan (Jon) Jackson Vannatta being born in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Marvin Jackson “Jack” and Linda Marie Overcast Vannatta were the parents of Jon. Jon was their son. A plane crashed on December 31, 2019, in Kansas City, causing Jon’s death. Within the United States Army Reserves, Jon was a Colonel, which is the highest rank possible. In the United States Army, he commanded a battalion in Tulsa, Oklahoma, prior to being promoted to the rank of Colonel. Recent events have resulted in him being given the position of Commander of the 354th Civil Affairs Army Brigade, which has its headquarters in White Plains, Maryland.

Colonel Vannatta has a Master of Science degree in public administration from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Solutions from the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Both of these degrees were received by Colonel Vannatta. Colonel Vannatta graduated with honors in 1994 from the United States Military Academy located in West Point, New York, where he excelled as a military scholar. He went on to serve as a colonel in the United States Army.
