On March 20, 2022, at the age of 78, John Henry Austin Jr. unexpectedly passed away, despite the fact that he was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1961 and was born in Akron on May 5, 1943. His parents, John Sr., and Grace (Hohlbaugh) passed away before he was born. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sue Austin; their three daughters, Debi (Jim) Foss, Linda Docy, and Lori (Darlene) Rotruck; his grandchildren, Matthew (Alexandria) Foss, Joshua Foss, Jonathan (Emily) Foss, Kayli (Andrew) Leger, Brandin (Jade) Arteno, Kory (Allex) Somosko, and Brooke… Full Obituary

John Austin Obituary, (1957 – 2012): John Douglas Austin, who had fought cancer bravely for a long time, died at home surrounded by his devoted family after a long and courageous battle with the disease. John spent his entire childhood in Chicago, Illinois, where he also received his education at St. Lawrence Academy. John served in the United States Navy for 18 years before retiring. He worked for Pure Power Technologies in Blythewood during his time in the area. He was one of four children that Ron and Sheila Austin welcomed into the world, and he was the cherished spouse of Rhonda Spillers Austin for more than three decades. His devoted mother, Sheila Austin, his brother, Don Austin (Amy), and his sister, Judy Fegan; his beloved children Jesse David Pace (Emily) and Shawn Pace; his treasured grandchildren Luke, Meredith, Austin, and Alex; and countless other friends and family members who were fortunate enough to know him will always remember John. John’s wonderful sister Susan McGee (Bob) and his brother-in-law Marty Fegan all passed away before him. John’s father, Ron Austin, also passed away before him (Judy). Full Obituary

John Austin Obituary, Rockford, Illinois: On December 17, 2021, Reverend John Wesley Austin peacefully made his transition to being with the Lord. In Kansas City, Missouri, on May 15, 1954, he was brought into the world by his parents, Stanley Austin and Dorothy (Blankenship). As a young child, he relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin; he moved to Rockford, Illinois, in 1964. When John became a member of New Zion Baptist Church, which was led by Rev. Clayborn Salter, it was there that he first met his future wife, Rhonda Hanserd. They tied the knot on November 30, 1974, making their marriage nearly half a century old. In 2004, he became a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church, which was then led by Rev. Charles Threadgill, Sr. At that church, he was in charge of the Jail Ministry, in addition to teaching the Men’s Sunday school class and the Layman’s class. In January of 2021, he joined the Unity Love Church, which was then led by Reverend Joseph Herron. While there, he was responsible for teaching Sunday School and delivering the message once every four weeks. Full Obituary
