2. Joseph Galen Morin Death, of Plantsville – Obituary

Joseph Galen Morin, age 74, of Plantsville, Connecticut, passed away on January 19, 2021, after a courageous battle against several cancers. He was able to enter Valhalla. On April 24, 1946, he was brought into the world by his parents, Clara (Bard) and Donat Morin, in Sinclair, Maine. The day after he received his diploma from high school, he enthusiastically enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam for two separate tours of duty and was honored with a number of decorations and awards, including the Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He was highly revered by his subordinates due to the fact that he always led from the front.

His military career came to an end when he fell in love with and married Sofia (Sufin), and he went on to become the Greatest Dad in the World to his two daughters, Nicole (Morin) Organist and Sara Morin. His devotion to his country was thus terminated. He exemplified the qualities of a true Marine throughout his entire life, treating others with consideration and offering assistance whenever it was requested. He had a spirit of adventure and loved doing daring things like skydiving and fishing in the ocean. His most recent profession was as a truck driver. He was a member of many different military organizations, such as the National Guard, the Marine Corps League, and the Devil Dogs, among others.   Read More
