Jim Flanders, an assistant superintendent in Minnetonka, has died.

Who was Jim Flanders? And what was the cause of his death?

The Minnetonka Fire Service is in grief following the sudden death of   Jim Flanders.

The tragic death news was announced, and the City of Minnetonka paid tribute to  Assistant Fire Chief Jim Flanders.

The cause of his death is not yet released; however, as per the source, he was found unresponsive at his home. His household staff called 911 and rushed him to the hospital. The expert medical team tried to save his life, but he was pronounced dead.

Fire Chief John Vance stated in a media statement that sacrificing  Jim is traumatic and that his heart is shattered by Flanders’ unexpected death.

“My heart breaks for Jim’s family and our firefighter family. It is heartbreaking to lose one of our brothers, “Minnetonka Fire Chief John Vance stated. “He was always on duty, assisting our community in preparing for and dealing with emergencies,” Vance added.

Flanders was a long-time member of the Minnetonka Fire Dept. He has been known to keep the department ready for any emergency. He was a very organized and responsible assistant fire chief.

For his excellent service over the years, he was honored with the  Spirit of Minnetonka award.

His friends, colleague, and family are mourning his death; however, there is no information shared about his memorial service.

“Jim was an invaluable resource for our community and well-known among our residents,” Minnetonka City Councilman Mike Funk remarked. “He was the one issuing warnings as strong storms approached Minnetonka just a few days ago.” He also kept an eye on COVID-19 and organized the region’s response to the outbreak.”

His teammates in emergency planning and local authority adored and admired Flanders. His coworkers respected him for his determination.
