Yesterday marked the passing of Jim Dulin, who served as a retired Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 in Lubbock. “It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone of the loss of retired Justice of the Peace, Honorable Jim Dulin. Jim passed away yesterday and in speaking with his sons, service arrangements are pending at this time. Please keep his children and their families in your prayers,” said County Judge Curtis Parrish in a statement today. Jim Dulin, who was born and raised in Lubbock, worked for the Department of Public Safety for 25 years before retiring. After his retirement, he began serving as a deacon at Southcrest Baptist Church. Source

Jim is survived by his wife, Karen of East Peoria; sons, Kevin M. Dulin and Joseph P. Dulin, both of Peoria; sisters, Brenda Kelly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Linda (Stan) Chittick of Williamsburg, Iowa; mother-in-law, Helen M. Gibbs of Pekin; brother-in-law, Doug (Claudia) Gibbs of Lincoln, Neb.; and nieces and nephews. In 1973, he received his diploma from Jefferson High School, which was located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from William Penn College, he continued his education at Pittsburg State University and received his master’s degree there.
After more than 30 years of service as a teacher at East Peoria High School, he took his retirement in the year 2010. A private memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, following the completion of the cremation rites. Donations in his memory can be made to his family.
