He lived in the area, but he was a very nice and talented gentleman. It is with great regret that I must inform you that Jerry Delisle, better known by his stage name Jerry Tyler, passed away due to a brief illness on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. Similar to myself, Jerry was a huge fan of country music. When you host a morning show on a country radio station, it’s pretty much a given that you have to be a fan of the genre’s music. On October 13, 1933, the author was born in North Adams.

He received his education at a number of local institutions, including Drury, from which he graduated. Additionally, he received an education at North Adams State College (now MCLA). After a long and successful career spent working in a variety of local factories, he finally took his retirement in 1990 from General Electric of Pittsfield. Jerry Tyler was not only a host for local country radio and television, but he was also a musician and songwriter in the genre of country music. At the age of 10, he started taking guitar lessons. 2. Jerry Ray Tyler Obituary, of Cadiz, Kentucky – Death

He was the son of Lonnie Tyler and Nell (Allen) Tyler, both of whom passed away before his birth on June 8, 1942 in Trigg County. After graduating from Trigg County High School in 1961, he worked his way up to the position of lineman foreman for Pennyrile Rural Electric for 44 years before taking early retirement. He served his country in the Kentucky National Guard for many years and was active in the Cadiz Baptist Church for many years.

Jerry Ray was an avid follower of University of Kentucky Basketball and loved watching and participating in all kinds of races. He cherished the role of PawPaw the most among all of his responsibilities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cookye (Peek) Tyler, in the year 2020; a brother, Lonnie Dale Tyler; and an infant sister, Pamela Jean Tyler. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife. Jerry Ray Tyler, age 79, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
