Jeffrey Dawson Obituary (July 2022) Death Information

Spread the love

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, just 20 days before he would have turned 65 years old, Jeffrey James Dawson finished his journey here on earth. Everyone adored Jeff because of his hilarious sense of humor, his stunning blue eyes, his huge smile, and the most infectious laugh anyone had ever heard.

He had a heart that was much bigger than himself, and if you were his friend, he would follow you to the ends of the earth. He had a passion for storytelling and was a wealth of anecdotes. He was loved by a large number of people, including his friends, family, and the people he worked with. He was born in Lebanon on Monday, August 12, 1957 to the late Richard F. Dawson and Dorothy (Eiceman) Dawson. He passed away in Lebanon in 1957.

He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1976 and then worked for BRT, Inc. until his retirement in 2019. In the past, he had worked for both Blouch Fuel and Carlos R. Leffler. His most popular catchphrase was “Youknowwhatimean.” and he went by the nicknames Daws, Leonard, Stumpy, and Big Daddy.

His treasures in life included his wife, Andrea (Deitzler); a son, Daniel Jeffrey Dawson of Lancaster; two step daughters, Laurie Gnall and husband Ed of Palmyra and Jennifer Boyer and husband Mike of Palmyra; his five precious grandchildren, Sara and Katelyn Boyer, Sean Carter, Charlie and Mila Gnall; a sister, Trudy Lapp and husband Mel; a sister-in-law, Sue Dawson; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel Jeffrey Dawson Judy Dawson, his sister, and Richard Dawson, his brother, both passed away before he did.

He was the last of his family. On September 24th, Jeff and Andrea would have celebrated 28 years of loving togetherness had they not passed away. They did not have nearly enough time together, but the time that they did have was rich in meaning and filled with affection. Andrea remarked that she often felt as though she was the luckiest girl in the world to have been able to spend her life with him.

Thank you, from the bottom of their hearts, to all of his family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who have supported Jeff and his family in their time of need. Over the course of those two years, it was an emotional roller coaster, and they count themselves fortunate to have had each of you by their side throughout it all. The family will decide when it is best for them to hold a private memorial service and burial for their loved one.

It is what Jeff would want you to do, so please raise a glass to him at your local watering hole of choice, reminisce about some of your favorite times together, and enjoy yourself. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, which can be found in the Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes Avenue at Meyran Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213, and addressed to the Gift Processing department.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., located at 25 West Pine Street in Palmyra, Pennsylvania 17078. Visit www.finkenbinderfamily.com to share your memories and condolences with the family.
