Actress Jayne Mansfield Obituary: Jayne Mansfield, a blonde bombshell and celebrated actress, was killed instantly on June 29, 1967, when the car in which she was riding collided with the rear of a trailer truck on U.S. Route 90 east of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was 32 years old at the time of her death. Mansfield was on her way to New Orleans from Biloxi, Mississippi, where she had been performing a standing engagement at a local nightclub. The following day, she was scheduled to make an appearance on television. In Gus Stevens’ 1966 Buick Electra, which was driven by Ronald B. Harrison, a driver for the Gus Stevens Dinner Club, Jayne Mansfield, her lawyer and companion Samuel S. Brody, and three of Mansfield’s children with her ex-husband Mickey Hargitay were traveling. Mansfield was also accompanied by Brody. On a stretch of road that was dark, just as the truck was approaching a machine that emitted a thick white fog used to spray mosquitoes (which may have obstructed Harrison’s view of the machine), the Electra rear-ended the trailer-truck. The accident claimed the lives of Mansfield, Harrison, and Brody all at the same time. It appears that eight-year-old Mickey, six-year-old Zoltan, and three-year-old Marie, also known as Mariska, had been sleeping on the rear seat; all three of them were injured but managed to survive. Rev. Carlos Jayne, Jr. Obituary: On Monday, June 13, 2022, Reverend Carlos Jayne, Jr., who was cherished by his family, colleagues, and other individuals who fought for justice and equality, passed away. He fought his way out of this world and wanted it to be known that he would go out kicking and screaming, just as he had done when he first arrived on this planet on May 24, 1935. He was raised in Laceyville, Pennsylvania, by his parents, Carlos Sr. and Ethel Jayne, but he was born in Towanda, Pennsylvania. He received his degrees from Lycoming College, which is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Iliff School of Theology, which is located in Denver, Colorado. He devoted his entire life to speaking up for people who were unable to do so themselves. He looked to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Oscar Romero for inspiration throughout his life. As a result of his efforts, Carlos was showered with praise.
