Jason Edward McDowell Jacksonville, Illinois: Dr. Jason Edward McDowell, 48, passed away on July 31, 2022, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. Dr. McDowell was a resident of Jacksonville, Illinois. The son of Edward E. and Andrea R. (Thompson) McDowell, he was born on September 12, 1973, in Iowa City, Iowa. His parents’ names are Edward E. and Andrea R. (Thompson). Mary Ellen Laws were married to Jason on December 12, 1992, in Hannibal, Missouri, and she is still alive today. Additionally, he is survived by his parents, who reside in Ottumwa, Iowa; sons, Clayton E. McDowell of Alton and Carter T. McDowell (fiancée, Mollie Huff) of Bridgeton, St. Louis, Missouri; brothers, Jeremy (Lisa) McDowell and Justin McDowell, both of Ottumwa; and an aunt, Amy Phillips, who was raised in the same house as the McDowell family.

Dr. McDowell received his high school diploma from Ottumwa in 1991 and then went on to study at Hannibal-LaGrange University. After that, he attended the University of Missouri–St. Louis in order to earn his doctorate in optometry. After completing his education, he started his professional life by finding work in Hannibal and Pittsfield. Edwin Clayton McDowell, Jr. Lafayette, Colorado: Edwin Clayton McDowell, Jr., a devoted father, and grandfather who was 78 years old, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021, at his home in Lafayette, Colorado from complications related to stage 4 esophageal cancer. Ed, a proud native of the state of Colorado, was born in Greeley. The Greeley Drug Company was run by his father, Edwin C. McDowell, Sr., who was both a pharmacist and the owner of the business. Dorothy Lucille Wagner, his mother, was one of the first women to work for Home Light and Power. She held the position of secretary.

Ed was a student who was full of energy and enthusiasm for his studies. In 1961, he received his diploma from Greeley High School. In addition to excelling in his studies, he was a starting guard on the football team that won the state championship and he also won the state championship in the discus throw. Before transferring to Colorado State University, Ed completed one year of his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was president of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity while he was a student at CSU, where he was a member of the fraternity. Ed was awarded the title of Outstanding Civil Engineer in 1965 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University with high distinction and being named the Outstanding Civil Engineer.
