1. James Stuart Medlin II Obituary, of Dayton TN – Death
James Stuart Medlin II, age 40, previously of Sevierville, Tennessee, and currently residing in Dayton, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2021. To everyone who knew him, he was a treasured son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. His family adored him. Above all else, he prioritized his devotion to God and the well-being of his family. It was important to him to convey the message that God had given him to others and to assist them in whatever way he could. We will miss James terribly, but we take solace in the knowledge that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. James earned his degree from the University of Tennessee after completing his studies at Sevier County High School.
His grandfather Jimmy Lee McMahan, his grandmother Mattilene Medlin, and his father Stuart Medlin all passed away before him, as did his uncle James Nelson McMahan. 2. James “Dub” Medlin Obituary, of Gray – Death
On Wednesday, November 1, 2006, James “Dub” Medlin, who was 70 years old and from Gray, passed away. He was the son of Earl Rogers Medlin and Maude Rogers Medlin, and he was born and raised in Kingsport. Mr. Medlin was a devout follower of the Methodist religion, and he enjoyed farming, trading animals, and being a Mason. Mr. Medlin spent the better part of three decades honing his carpentry skills at Eastman Chemical. James was a fantastic member of the family in all of his roles: husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a deep and abiding love for his family.
On Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 7:00 PM, a Celebration of Life service will be placed in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, with James Cameron, Minister serving as the officiant. Prior to the service, the family will be there to greet friends from five until seven in the evening. On Sunday, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a service performed at the graveside in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. The following individuals have volunteered to serve as active pallbearers: Carl Barnes, Mike Barnes, Lanny Tipton, Mark Gambrell, Quincy Burgess, Jeff Campbell, Phil Medlin, and Connie Medlin.
