After a protracted battle with illness, James Leck Black, 75 years old, of Memphis, Tennessee, a devoted family man, a former public school educator and administrator, a real estate executive, and a lifelong supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, passed away in peace on September 6, 2022. “Jim” was recognized as a servant minister in every meaning of the phrase to those who knew him best, as well as to others who encountered him elsewhere throughout his long and successful life. “Jim” lived a long and successful life. Never seeking credit for his own contributions, he instead rejoiced in the accomplishments of those who came before him. received help and assistance as a result of his generosity.

Jim’s birthday is March 18th and he was born in Humboldt, Tennessee, in 1947. He spent his childhood in the small community of Dyer. by his parents, Ocie Leck Black, a well-known mechanic in the community, and Marjorie Thompson Black, a homemaker a woman who takes care of her family while while volunteering actively for the Democratic Party. Albert Louis Maher Jr. Albert Louis Maher Jr., also known as “Al,” a resident of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away in his home on April 8, 2022. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Al Louis Maher was born on April 8, 1928 in Flushing, New York, to his parents, Albert Louis Maher Sr. and Anna Wilhelmina Droge Maher. His birthday is precisely 94 years ago. The early years of Al’s life were spent in the New York borough of Flushing. After some time, his family relocated to Richmondville, which is located in New York. He enlisted in the Army in September 1946 and served until September 1949, spending some of his service in South Korea.

After leaving the military, he enrolled in the apprentice program at General Electric’s Schenectady, New York location. On November 20, 1954, Albert weds Ruth Edla Williams, a resident of Poughkeepsie, New York. Following Al’s employment at IBM as a Tool Maker, the family uprooted and moved to Poughkeepsie. After working his entire life at IBM, Al finally hung up his keyboard in 1990. Al is survived by his wife Ruth Edla Williams Maher, daughter Cynthia Ann Maher Beale, son Scott Alan Maher and his wife Elizabeth, son Christopher Albert Maher, and son Craig Andrew Maher. Also surviving are Al’s sons Christopher Albert Maher and Craig Andrew Maher.  Read more
