James D. Carter Obituary: On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, James D. Carter passed away at the age of 91. The 11th of June, 1930 saw the arrival of James D. Carter III. He spent the majority of his life in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he was born and raised his family. Grace Dozier Carter was his mother, and his father, James D. Carter, Jr., taught Spanish and French at The College of William and Mary. He was named after his grandfather. His brother John R. “Jack” Carter, who died before him, is remembered fondly. Surviving family members include his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Terry Hamilton, two sons, James (Jay) D. Carter IV, and his wife, Ilse, and Lee H. Carter, a sister named Anne Denieul, and a granddaughter named Grace Carter. He was married to Elizabeth Terry Hamilton for 67 years. Matthew Whaley School in Williamsburg is where Jim received his diploma. The first season that they fielded a football team, he led the team to a perfect record as a quarterback while they went on to win the championship. Tom Nugent, who later became a coach at VMI, Florida State, and the University of Maryland, was the one in charge of the team. James Donald Carter Obituary: James Donald Carter, age 76, passed away without any pain or suffering on May 30th, 2022 at The Lantern of Chagrin Valley, where he was receiving hospice care. Jimmy was his nickname among his many golfing friends and business associates. He was born on November 2nd, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to Lois Alice (Houston) and James Thomas Carter. He went to Akron Hower Vocational High School, which is where he met and married the love of his life, Shirley (Coda) Carter. His parents were Lois Alice (Houston) and James Thomas Carter. After finishing high school, Jim went to work for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to receive training as a machinist. However, Jim ultimately decided to pursue his true passion in life by becoming a salesman for the Superior Business Forms company. In Jim’s never-ending quest to provide a better life for his rapidly expanding family, he took matters into his own hands and founded two prosperous companies in Akron: Future Graphics Inc. and Business Forms Plus Inc.
