“It is with profound sadness that the Reid Insurance Agency shares the news of the death of our founder J. Frederick Reid today, Thursday, September 22, 2022. Fred’s insurance career spanned over 70 years! We are sad, but so extremely proud to be a part of his visionary belief to start the hometown Agency in 1975. The first office was in Harpster then moved to Upper Sandusky! Wyandot County was always near and dear to Fred. He will continue to be a great inspiration for all of us!! 2. Frederick Joe Reid Death, Of Chattanooga  – Obituary

Willie Reid and Willie Mae Walton Reid, both of whom predeceased him, gave birth to Frederick Joe Reid on November 3, 1946 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Frederick Joe Reid is now 75 years old. Chattanooga was the location of his passing on the 29th of January, 2022. Everyone who knew him referred to him as “Freddie.” He was a person who wanted to give the impression that he was tough, but he was actually compassionate and sensitive on the inside despite his tough demeanor. After a period of time spent in California, he relocated back to Chattanooga to be closer to his family and friends there. His son Michael Frederick Reid, his brother Ernest Reed, and his sister Jacqueline Reid Steele all passed away before him. He was the last surviving member of his family.

He is survived by his children, James Reid of Chattanooga, Kevin Reid of Lilburn, Georgia, and Ryan Reid of Long Beach, California; his daughters, Leslie McDaniel of Tracy City, Tennessee, and Rayven Reid of Long Beach, California; his sister, Juanita Reel; a special friend and caregiver named Pamela Berry; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Onetta Reed, of California; a special cousin named In On Wednesday, February 9, a visitation will be held at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home from 2 to 6 o’clock in the evening. On Thursday, February 10, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a service held at the graveyard. The Chattanooga National Cemetery is going to be used for the interment.  Read more
