In 1988, when Ferrand was 26, he became the associate director of a press graphics agency, which he ran until 1990, when he started a communication consulting company and became an agency administrator and associate graphic designer.

In May 1991, Kofi Yamgnane, who was Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Integration, asked him to help him with communications.

In 1992, he asked Kofi Yamgnane if he could “settle down in Brittany and keep working for the ministry.” Kofi Yamgnane’s wife finds a house for him and his family in Hanvec.

In 2008, he spoke out for the hospital in Carhaix, which was in danger of closing, to merge with the regional university hospital center in Brest.
